About The Candidate

Meet Trae
Trae is an 11th-grade student at Harford Technical High School, where his focus is on cybersecurity, information technology and Track and Field. He is a dedicated leader in student government, having served in various roles for 5 years and currently serving as the President of the Harford County Regional Association of Student Councils, advocating for student representation and overseeing initiatives that impact his peers. His commitment to amplifying the student voice extends beyond his county, as he also holds a leadership role with the Maryland Association of Student Councils, managing technical operations to ensure effective communication and outreach. Passionate about student advocacy and governance, Trae works tirelessly to empower others and create meaningful change in education.
My Focus Areas
Policy
My primary goal is for students to leave HCPS not only as strong students and career-ready individuals, but as well-rounded people equipped with the knowledge and skills to thrive in society. Education should empower them to think critically, engage with their communities, and navigate the world with confidence and purpose. (Click image for more information)
Voting Rights
I am working alongside our Student Member of the Board, as well as county and state legislators, to expand the SMOB’s voting rights to include budget, calendar, and curriculum decisions. Since students are directly impacted by these areas, they deserve a stronger voice in shaping policies that affect their education and future. (Click image for more information)
Community Engagement
I believe that true leadership comes from engaging with the community and ensuring that every voice is heard. When making decisions, I will not vote based on my personal views but rather on the input of students, using outreach and feedback to guide my choices. By actively listening and collaborating, I strive to represent the collective needs of students and make informed decisions that benefit our entire school community. (Click image for more information)
